Julie Kelley, WHS Technology Integration Specialist Goes to Google
Wilmington, MA, August 30, 2016– Technology Integration Specialist Julie Kelley spent several days this summer at Google NYC to work with engineers on a product called Google Classroom. One of eight teachers from across the country, Julie advised Google UI (user interface) engineers on how to make Google Classroom more user- or “teacher-” friendly. Julie is a Google “Top Contributor”. The Top Contributor Program is a group of Google product enthusiasts who earned the distinction of Top Contributor or Rising Star by sharing their knowledge in Google Help Forums.
As Wilmington High School looks to start the Google Chromebooks one to one initiative with the ninth grade class, having a Google expert on staff is a big support. Director of Technology, Anne-Marie Fiore said: “Julie’s knowledge of Google will be indispensable to the staff and students as we work our way through the first year of the Google Chromebook initiative”.
The Wilmington Public Schools provides a challenging, relevant, personalized educational experience that promotes both the academic success and the social and emotional well-being of all students.  Well-trained and highly qualified staff provides students with multiple ways to demonstrate individual learning and growth, and prepare them for success in school, work, and life.
